The Rhapis Palm (Rhapis excelsa) grows in dense clumps of slender, upright green stems. On the stems are fan-shaped, glossy green fronds. The Rhapis Palm is tolerant of low-light conditions, which makes it a popular indoor plant. It has a relatively slow growth rate, gaining less than a foot in height yearly.
